We both have complex brains capable of high intelligence, processing thoughts, problem solving, and most importantly, deep emotional connection. Like us, they have complex social structures, and experience feelings like intense grief, empathy, and even jealousy and grudges. To me, the elephant’s eye is another reminder that we are nature, and nature is us.
